I met Joe a couple of months before my mom was diagnosed with brain cancer. Life was already a little chaotic, and then everything turned upside down. In the middle of it all, Joe stayed close. Not in a loud or pushy way. Just quietly checking in and showing up. I didn’t realize it at the time, but that kind of consistency was exactly what I needed.Fast forward to my best friend Brooke’s wedding. Everyone joked I’d meet someone while I was down there. But what no one knew, including me, was that the perfect man was already waiting for me back home. While I was at the wedding, Joe reached out again. I decided to say yes this time. I flew home on a Sunday, and that Friday, we met for the first time. We’ve been inseparable ever since.Joe was my lighthouse in the middle of my storm, especially after my mom passed. He never made me feel like a burden or that my grief was too much. He didn’t try to fix me. He just made sure I knew he was there, no matter what I needed or when I needed it.When he proposed, it wasn’t some huge, over-the-top moment. It was just us, in our bedroom, after a peaceful day together. And it was perfect. Quiet, intimate, and so us.He even designed my ring himself. Pink diamonds to honor my mom and a green gem at the base to represent his birthstone. It’s more than just a ring. It’s a symbol of our story, one built on love, loss, strength, and grace.Before the proposal, we had already built a life together through laughter, healing, travel, and growth. Joe’s love never wavered. I truly believe that before my mom left this world, she told God what kind of man her daughter would need. And somehow, Joe found his way to me.He’s my peace, my calm, and my soft place to land. Our story isn’t perfect, but it’s ours. Real, rooted, and full of love. Now, we’re planning forever together, and every step feels like.

If you're flying into Blue Grass Airport (LEX), you're in luck, it's a small, easy-to-navigate airport just 15–20 minutes from most hotels in Georgetown and downtown Lexington. Ride-shares like Uber and Lyft are available, but rental cars are also a great option if you want to explore the bourbon trail, horse farms, or local attractions during your stay.

Blue Grass Airport (LEX)

If you're looking for more flight options, CVG is a great choice. It is about a 1-hour drive from Georgetown.Note on Transportation: While Uber and Lyft are available, they will be very expensive for the hour-long trip to Georgetown. We highly recommend a rental car for this route, which will also give you the freedom to explore the area at your own pace!

Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG)

SDF is another excellent option for those traveling from further away. It is located approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes from Georgetown. Note on Transportation: Please keep in mind that a ride-share (Uber or Lyft) from Louisville to Georgetown will be very expensive due to the distance. Renting a car is the most cost-effective and convenient way to get to the wedding and enjoy the beautiful Kentucky scenery along the way.
